The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.
Sept Field Trip
Sept. 19th --Field Trip not to the Taj Mahal!
Not to the Taj Mahal in India, but the restaurant at 5416 California Avenue in Bakersfield.
Following a specially prepared exotic luncheon at noon, Harry Malhutra, DDS, will give a Power Point presentation on the contributions of folks from India to our local and state history.
The price of the special luncheon, which includes beverage, is $16.50. The owner’s son will comment on the menu and explain the food. Beer, wine and cocktails may also be purchased.
