The Kern River Valley Historical Society has been in operation for over 40 years. Our mission is to preserve and communicate the rich and colorful history of this region. To achieve these goals we have established the Kern Valley Museum in downtown Kernville next to the Post Office.
August Potluck Recap

Boy! Do we have a bunch of great cooks in the Historical Society? ...

You bet we do!

Our annual potluck is a time for food, fun and camaraderie and this year’s potluck had all three!

We held a brief membership meeting to update our members on Historical Society business, Tom McKinney said “Grace”, and we dove into some of the best food around!

It’s no wonder we published a Historical Society Cookbook! (Which by the way, is on sale in the gift shop.)

Linda Kubisiak provided some really cute door prizes. She put together several little cactus gardens—some of which were painted rocks. (Now that’s my kind of gardening!)

It was a fun evening
